Southern Utah’s Quail Creek is a beautiful reservoir that offers the exciting scuba dive in deep water that you are looking for. With depths ranging from 60 to 90 feet, Quail Creek Reservoir is ideal for divers who want deep water training. Quail Creek also has great places for camping and covered picnic sites. While Quail Creek Reservoir doesn’t have the topography of Sand Hollow Reservoir, it does have less traffic for a more quiet and enchanting underwater thrill. You will be swimming with a variety of fish, ranging anywhere from catfish to trout. Quail Creek offers great fishing for a variety of species.
Quail Creek Reservoir is one of Utah’s oldest reservoirs. It is only 14 miles from Access Scuba, so it’s proximity to St. George, Utah makes it a great place to scuba dive and cool off. The reservoir shoreline is publicly owned, so there are few restrictions.
Information
Quail Creek Reservoir is on U-9 about 3 miles east of I-15 (at exit 16) and 4 miles west of Hurricane. Quail Creek State Park is on the south side of the reservoir and is accessible from U-9. Facilities include 23 campsites, an improved boat ramp, modern toilets, a fish cleaning station and two covered picnic areas. Usage fees are charged in all areas of the park.
